Looking for rock-solid career stability? One employee from this privately held, highly profitable 100+-year-old manufacturer of large rotating equipment retired after 50 years service! Located in a large campus right off Route 8 in a beautiful town, you can take part in organized hikes on Fridays. This company prides themselves in having many long term contracts and in emphasizing employee cross training. Reporting to the Materials Manager, you will be making purchase orders on mechanical parts, tooling, and services, securing sample components, making quotations, negotiating supplier prices and long term contracts, visiting suppliers, and more. Materials purchased include raw materials, castings, forgings, plastic molded parts, metal stampings, and machined parts. Travel is expected to be about 20% of the time. Salary ranges $65,000- $75,000, and the benefits are outstanding. These include a medical cafeteria plan BC/BS PPO or HAS with as little as 11% employee contribution, dental, vision, life, disability, employee assistance plan, prescription drugs, tuition aid, a 100% co. matched 401 (k) plan to 6% employee contribution, and more. There is no relocation assistance on this. Because much of their business is DoD work, it requires U.S. citizenship, as well as 5 or more years experience purchasing mechanical parts with a manufacturer. A BS/or BA degree is strongly preferred, and any experience working for a DoD manufacturer is a shoo-in.
