Chemical Operators- 3rd Shift Mid Fairfield County, CT

Looking for a stable, employee-oriented company with fine benefits? This company manufactures hundreds of chemical products, with quite a range of operations, including distillation, reaction engineering, heat transfer, fluid flow, mass transfer, and liquid/liquid extraction. They are financially secure, employee-oriented, family-held, and there is no union. This is a very nice place to work, and they boast of having many long-term employees. This is an 80+ year old company, and people actually retire from here. Reporting to a Production Foreman, following training, you’ll be handling continuous stirred batch chemical reactors, distillation and extraction columns, Wiped Film Evaporators (WFE), product filtration operations, and more. All production here complies with ISO 9001 and 14001 standards. The Operators also help out moving 55-gallon drums with tow motors. They emphasize job site safety and there is an established training program on safety procedures. Stated salary range is $18.00/hr. for Operator Trainees to $25.00 /hr., plus a $3.00/ hr. 3rd shift differential for 40 hours and $4.50/hr. for working over 40 hours. 3rd Shift runs from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. I will show them qualified professionals with higher requirements. Excellent company benefits include Cigna medical and dental plans, Employee Assistance Program, Flexible Benefit Accounts, tuition aid, a 401 (k) plan with quarterly company contributions, a credit union, 11 holidays, 8 paid time off days, on-site gym with trainers, on-site cafeteria, and more. There is a high school level math quiz administered at the interview. A physical with drug test and criminal background check is part of the interview process, as well.
Requires permanent U.S. residency, some experience using a tow motor or forklift, and two or more years work experience in a chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. They shy away from hiring people who change jobs every year or two. They attempt to hire former U.S. military whenever possible. They will consider people without chemical industry experience if they have previous hazardous operations training. Since this company has been a valued client since the mid ‘80s, much more information is available.
