You will be the key player in shipping and logistics at this $720MM+ publicly held international corporation manufacturing highly engineered industrial and aerospace products. Their customers include a long list of Fortune 50 industrial and aerospace corporations. The atmosphere here is dynamic and fluid, and management is quite aggressive, focusing on acquisitions and on building new facilities to increase market share. The reporting structure is remarkably flat and they have minimum of established procedures. They have a good COVID-19 policy limiting meetings, socially distancing, wearing masks, and continuously cleaning common areas. You will report to the Director of Global Sourcing, who has been with the corporation for 18 years. He was described as “a relaxed guy who will not micromanage.” You’ll be functioning as a one person department handling logistics and shipping for 31 facilities in 5 countries developing and implementing cost effective policies for land, sea, and air. This includes freight, tariff, and duty analysis to uncover the most efficient ways to ship freight. Much of the position centers on shipping between facilities between Canada, the U.S., and Mexico, so knowledge of NAFTA and Maquiladora is important.
