This smaller privately held manufacturer is the world leader in their line of commercial products. They have more than doubled their sales over the past ten years and 2016 was their best year ever. Their “recession proof” products have had strong sales lately in China and India. They pride themselves on being serious about implementing continuous improvement and in employing lean manufacturing techniques. The key responsibilities for the Compliance Director will include creating a Quality Management System, working with hardware and software engineers to assure new products meet UL and European requirements, and hosting quarterly audits with the same agencies. Travel is only expected to be between 5 to 10% of the time. Salary target ranges from $100,000 to $140,000. Additionally, there is a 10 to 20% discretionary bonus plan here. A BSEE degree is strongly preferred, but I will show them qualified compliance professionals without it. They also prefer people with ASQ certification, strong lean manufacturing experience, and some background in Capability Maturing Model Integration software lifecycle process.
