Field Service Engineer- rotating equipment Anywhere U.S.A.

Prefer a more hands-on position as opposed to design engineering? Eager for world travel? Enjoy working out of your house? This company will train you in their highly engineered, specialized, high end, recession-proof equipment line. After a 6 week product training program in France, you will travel internationally up to 75% of the time, supporting installations and resolving problems with Fortune 50 customers. They have a beautiful facility in an accessible, suburban location. The atmosphere here is friendly and tight-knit, and the president commented, “We share the wealth with our employees”. They boast of a 40-year track record working with prestigious top line products in the industry. You will deal with customers’ engineers and engineering managers, will handle operating issues such as corrosion, power losses and efficiencies, turbo dynamics, vibration, and more. When not traveling, maintaining after order contracts and performing project management duties. In time, this position could very well lead to a Service Manager or Project Manager/Project Engineer slot. Starting base salary is around $60,000- $70,000. In addition, paid overtime should add $20,000 to $30,000 income annually to the base. This means first year compensation should be around $85,000 – $90,000. The company matches 100% of employee’s 401 (k) contribution of up to 5% salary after a year service. Requires at least six months of engineering experience working in a manufacturing facility, a passion to see the world, fine interpersonal and communication skills, a polished appearance, and an interest in hands-on mechanical engineering projects. Some exposure to rotating equipment, such as motors, pumps, compressors, turbines, etc., is strongly preferred. Since the new hire will be working with degreed engineers, they absolutely require a BS in Mechanical or Marine Engineering and U.S. citizenship. Because there is some travel to South America, ability to speak Portuguese or Spanish is of distinct advantage. You can live anywhere in the U.S.A., but it will be convenient if you live close to an airport. This position is for an engineer who wants to see the world–please do not apply for this if you are looking for a “starter position” to leave in a year or two.
