A smaller division of a highly profitable $1.34B aerospace component manufacturer in Greater Waterbury is seeks a Manufacturing Engineer with a background in CNC machining. Their customers include a long list of Fortune 50 aerospace corporations. There are clearly long term opportunities for career growth–the highly aggressive parent corporation established their first division in 1993 with $30MM in sales, and now they have facilities in 5 countries. You’ll work in a 4-year-old building with 70% all new 3 and 4 axis-machining centers, quite close to I-84. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the specs on the position look typical. These include design and layout of equipment, assisting nonunion operators, writing up process sheets, troubleshooting production problems, estimating production times, staffing requirements, working closely with vendors, purchasing and installing new production equipment, etc. There are 6 engineers in the department, of which 2 are entry level, so you’ll be doing some mentoring of younger staff. In addition to the machining, there are heat-treating and chemical processing operations going on. Target salary ranges from $85,000 to $100,000. I will show them qualified Manufacturing Engineers with higher requirements. Benefits include major medical, dental and life insurance, 11 paid holidays, paid shutdown the week between Christmas and New Year, and more. These require permanent U.S. residency and 2 or more years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a CNC machining manufacturing environment. An ASME or BSME degree is preferred, but the machining manufacturing engineering experience is more important to them. A criminal background check and drug screen are part of the hiring process.
