A medium-sized division of a national aerospace component manufacturer searches for a Manufacturing Manager with either machining or metal stamping background. Established over 65 years, they hold a long list of Fortune 100 customers, including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, MTU Aero Engines, Northrup Grumman, Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky, UTC, Wood Group, Cessna, Bell Helicopter, Delta, Bombardier, Eaton, General Electric, GKN, Honeywell, and many more. Due to an enlarged sales force, five new five-year military aerospace contracts have been signed recently. Reporting to a V.P. of Operations, you will be responsible for 20 staff on the day shift, plus 3 more machinists working the night shift. Most of the CNC machining is 3 axis. They have one 5 axis machining center. Responsibility includes engaging staff in 6S and continuous improvement programs, and the scope runs from receipt of material to customer delivery. Because they make limited production runs with frequent changeovers, they specifically requested a manager with strong scheduling skills, both internally and in handling outside services. This is a non-union shop. Hours are estimated to be about 45 hours weekly. Salary ranges from $75,000 to $90,000, depending on level of experience. There is an additional 5% quarterly bonus based on profitability. Benefits include 80% company paid medical insurance, a choice in health plans, a company-matched 401 (k) plan, and more. There are no relocation expenses available on this. Requires U.S. citizenship, production management experience with either CNC machining or in metal stamping, strong scheduling talent, and a stable work track record. They will not interview folks who change jobs every year or two. They would love to hire a manager with aerospace job shop background, but this is not required. Experience is more important than degrees.
