Manufacturing Manager- Machining Greater Bridgeport

Looking for stability within a rapidly growing corporation? This is your shot to move up from a job shop into a manufacturing operation. This aerospace component manufacturer seeks a a Machining Manager to handle about 15 staff on the first shift. This is one of the most profitable divisions in the international corporation, with 175 employees and about $69MM in sales. Their customers include a long list of Fortune 50 aerospace corporations and they have orders locked in until at least 2020. There are clearly opportunities for growth–the highly aggressive parent corporation has a goal of making one acquisition a year, and they have kept on this track for at least 7 years. This could very well lead to an Operations Manager slot down the road. Their suburban facility is located close to I –95. Reporting to a Division General Manager, you will manage the efforts of a Supervisor, a technician, and about 12 union machinists on the first shift, ensuring they adhere to AS9100 quality specifications. You will also be implementing sorely needed lean manufacturing techniques. The relationship with the union is not contentious. There is no travel involved. Salary target is $80,000 to $100,000, but they will also consider Machining Managers or Superintendents at higher levels with corresponding salary requirements. Requires permanent U.S. residency, 7 or more years of machine shop experience, at least three or more years of management experience with a manufacturer doing CNC machining, and excellent leadership skills. A four year degree is preferred, but not required. Any aerospace industry or union employee experience is preferred, but not required.
