This smaller, 65+ year old metal stamping job shop has a number of long term automotive contracts, and some of the customers have been with them over 20 years. A new salesman has booked a number of new contracts for 2019, so the future looks bright. They boast having a number of long term employees. In fact, the Office Manager has been with them 17 years. Reporting to the President, you’ll have one Quality Inspector with 5 years experience. This means you’ll be making the strategic decisions and handling the quality engineering role by yourself. They do have some automated inspection systems. An outside consultant currently filling in will help you to get established. They pride themselves in their clean facility and outstanding safety record, with a “mod rate” of .69. The duties are typical and include adhering to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards, conducting audits, training the audit team, supervising equipment calibration, CMM inspection, managing quality policies, creating inspection procedures and documentation, improving methods, etc. Salary is fairly open at this point, ranging from $85,000 to $100,000, maybe $110,000 or so. Am still waiting for a benefits overview, but they do have a profit sharing plan which is tied to a 401 (k). There is no relocation assistance on this. Requires permanent U.S. residency, 5 or more years of Quality Engineering or Management experience in an automotive metal stamping facility, knowledge of automotive IATF 16949 standards, as well as ISO 9001 and 14001, and positive leadership skills to maintain high morale.
