This is an opportunity to move up to a 100+ year old, $750MM global leader in specialty food and pharmaceutical ingredients. They are a division of a $5.5 Billion, publicly held corporation, and they are aggressive, having made 2 acquisitions in the past 2 years. Their R & D center is constantly developing new leading edge products. This position is open due to a promotion. Reporting to a Sales Director, you’ll be developing specialty ingredients sales to the food, pharmaceutical, and nutraceutical sectors in an assigned geography which ranges from the Northeast to the Midwest, even the West Coast. They provide a company vehicle for local travel, and there will be some air travel as well, up to 35% of the time. Duties appear to be typical and include building strategic customer relationships, working out new product ideas with R & D, developing monthly and annual forecasts and business plans, delivering customized presentations to new and existing customers, gathering and assessing information on pricing, quality, and trends, attending professional workshops and society meetings, analyzing contracts and price quotes, keeping records of account activity, and so much more. They would love to hire at a $90-$110K base + commission, but they will consider qualified professionals with higher requirements. The Sales Manager can work out of a home office, but they require local candidates who can attend twice weekly meetings at headquarters in central Fairfield County. Requires a BS degree in a technical field, 5 or more years of technical sales experience in food ingredient, additive, emulsifier, stabilizer, pharmaceutical ingredients, or flavor industries, and a strong desire for career advancement.
