A privately held, rock solid, 50+ year old aerospace job shop seeks an experienced Tool Designer on day shift. They have some excellent clients. The recent slowdown in the aerospace industry has not affected them. In fact, due to plenty of military projects, they have been working 10 hours of overtime weekly. Projects here are usually one-of-a-kind. They use Unigraphics to design tools and fixtures for aerospace milling, grinding, and Wire EDM operations. This is close tolerance, complex work, often used in jet engine blade and vane manufacturing. This position reports to a Design Manager who has been with the company 27 years. He has an open, unpretentious personality. He attempts to assign overtime to meet employee’s preferences. The working atmosphere is casual, and the facility is air-conditioned. Depending on level of experience, the salary ranges from $35.00 to $38.50 an hour. With 10 hours of overtime, this brings annual compensation to $72,800- $110,000. Benefits include medical, dental, disability, life and vision insurance, tuition aid, and a 401 (k) plan. The company also pays employee salaries during the Christmas to New Year shutdown. Requires U.S. citizenship and several years of tool design experience in the metal working industry. Aerospace tool design background is preferred, but not absolutely required.
